When I was 12, I got my first shot at working for my father in his hotel and restaurant at The Brickyard Mountain Inn, formerly Shangri-La Resort Motel in Laconia, New Hampshire. I’ll never forget that late afternoon shift. I worked on a “school night” and got home late. I made $12 dollars. I was happy and rich.
