Discover the Art of Warm Outreach
Because Cold Outreach Sucks
Nobody builds a successful business alone, including solopreneurs like me. Building a small business is a team and contact sport.
It’s the #1 sport I’ve played well for forty years. There is incredible joy in the struggle to build any small business. And the odds are against us until we crack the customer acquisition code.
The two biggest lessons I’ve learned building my businesses and serving thousands of others are as follows:
- You need a team of subcontractors to start. These are highly specialized small business owners themselves. They think like us, business owners, most of the time. Over time, add employees as necessary.
- You need to make a lot of contacts to get customers. Without a way to get customers or donations, if you’re a non-profit, you’re done. It’s over. The only way to succeed is by making lots of contacts every day.
The key is using the best strategies and tactics for you and your business. You can do it yourself or delegate the work to people you hire and pay.
Soft Selling In a Digital World
Warm outreach is what I call soft selling. It tends not to traumatize people.
