Do you wrestle with a monkey mind that takes you to extremes or berates you worse than any bully you could imagine? If so, my goal is to help you get over yourself.

The way of life I’m describing is called the Middle Way by ancient sages, mystics, priests, and monks who roamed the mountains and valleys of Tibet. I found this way of living, a Middle Way, later in life. In the middle, we get along better than duking it out on the far left or right, which makes the middle unstable.

Chances are, it’s your mindset that brings you less than you seek. My hope for you is it won’t take you forty or more years to find the Middle Way as it took me. And trust me, I still go off-center once in a while, but not as much as when I was younger.

The tree symbolizes resilience. The tree endures extreme and lives centered within it. The tree is order amid chaos. It knows naturally the Middle Way, free from attachments, expectations of unachievable ideals that make her mad when she fails or misses the mark.

Yes, nature is harsh. The tree is there in the middle of the snowy field, sitting contently, blowing enough in strong winds to stand the next day.

Medium stopped paying me due to a technical problem on their end. Their support is unwilling or able to help me. So, I stopped writing. Get a grip, Medium.
