“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”

— Maya Angelou

What does it feel like to control the uncontrollable?

Maddening.

The more we seek to control, the less control we have.

Welcome to the game of life.

We can control one thing reasonably well. It’s how we react unless we are in a state of extreme stress or mental health issues such as PTSD.

The sooner we realize that controlling the uncontrollable is a primary source of suffering, the faster we can change ourselves.

We can change how we see things. We can open our minds and hearts and break through the early programming and conditioning that makes us who we are.

Arguing with reality is futile. When we wake up to this fact, we begin our transformation. It never ends.

When we learn to let go, we redeem ourselves.

Our suffering becomes the springboard to clarity, courage, and loving acceptance of all that is.

In the butterfly, we see transformation. In humans, it’s redemption.
