“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” This is the Jesus prayer I recite in silence through day and night. We learn in the book, The Way of the Pilgrim, and also in Philokalia. These are predominately Eastern Orthodox bodies of work. I suggest all believers know them, for they are ageless and profound wisdom.
