Discover the mystical, magical power of the muse
This is one of my first watercolor paintings I did about six months ago. Nobody told me watercolors are the hardest medium in which to paint; I just jumped in. I didn’t know what I didn’t know.
Here’s the deal after about 8 months of painting and learning to draw; I’ve gone backwards.
Two steps forward, one step back, sometimes three. That can feel very frustrating. Sometimes I want to five finger death punch myself.
Do you know the only thing that gets in my way? The fear of not being good enough which is pure head trash. It’s the self-doubting critical voice in my head.
Do you feel the discomfort of doing something new? Head trash. Bust through that crap. Just go for it.
Do you hear the critical voice in your head and wonder who’s doing the talking to whom? That’s your linear, judging, perceiving, controlling, limiting ego voice. He lives on the left side of most brains. It represents only about 5% of consciousness.
The one listening, for most of us, is the right side of our brain. She is the feeling, perceiving, loving, creative MUSE that represents 95% of our consciousness; the ability to learn and do anything.
