Could we be made of stardust, among other stuff?

This YouTube video of Dr. Natalie Hinkel made me feel humbled and stupefied by the wonder of our universe, the many planets, and stars. It’s about the relationship between the universe and us.

I’m no rocket scientist or astrophysicist, so please forgive me if any aspect of what I’m about to share is out of line.

Stargazing, the Moon, and Iron

When I look up at the night sky and see the stars, especially the moon, something deep and primal calls me. It’s humbling, and being curious by nature, I did some digging and learned more about the connection between humans, stars, and stardust.

What’s the connection?

Iron is an essential element for the human body and is required for producing hemoglobin, a protein found in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to the body’s tissues.

Therefore, without iron, stars, stardust, and this place called earth, we would not exist in human form. That may seem obvious. However, I’ll never take iron or stars for granted again.
