The Power of Clarity — How I Became a More Mindful Family Man
It’s taken me 513,528 hours to write this story. And it seems nearly impossible not to regret my past when I look back now. The good news for anyone willing to read this article, we can learn not to regret the past, but to be grateful for it.
One way to discover your way to clarity is to learn how I and others found their way to a better quality of life on earth. Clarity was the way I got over myself and found a way to be a more mindful family man.
I’ve been married for 35 years to the woman of my dreams. Together, we raised two off-the-charts sons who became my best teachers. Chris is 31, Alex 28. Both boys got the boot out of our house after college. They are gainfully employed doing work that gives them meaning. They routinely spend less than they make, so they don’t do what I did and live life “keeping up with the Joneses.”
I believe nothing is more important than raising healthy families. When family life is good, the goodness leaks into the neighborhood and everywhere we go. We show up at work better when life is great at home.
