This Is Why It’s Time for Men to Be Better Role Models

I’m sure my loving father looks down from Heaven every day and wonders how it could get much worse for men serving as lame role models. That’s because my father was a true gentleman, and he was the best role model a son could hope to have.

This article is a call to action for more men to become better role models. Look at the behavior of some of the most powerful, influential men in the world who fall from grace because of their despicable behavior, imagined, or not. This is why it’s time for men to be better role models. Otherwise, we’re doomed because as tragic as it may seem, men still hold the majority of leadership roles at work. What we see can’t last.

I am a highly-imperfect man. I am 57-years young. I’ve been married for 33 years, and have raised two successful sons who are happy, healthy, and true gentlemen. The only way that happened is my father served as the best role model I ever had, and I did my best to do the same for my sons. Because of this, their sons will know what my father’s, father knew to teach him, and he, me. This is how it works when men serve as positive role models for boys.
