Three Ways Art Helps Us Feel Happier and Healthier

I’m not sure why we defund arts and music in our public schools. Sure, one argument is that sports like baseball, basketball, and football are how to succeed and have fun in America.

Now, look at us.

It can appear we’re going back more than forwards, but I’m not giving up hope. That’s because by becoming an artist and knowing artists, I don’t meet many who are less than happy and healthy.

The same is true with any monk I’ve met; never too sad, mad, or glad. Their inner calm and presence seem unflappable. These people know who they are and live the life they want by creating it one day at a time.

This article may prove that art can help us feel happier and healthier even if we suck at it initially. We keep trucking, and one day, we look back and say, “Wow! I created that?”
