It’s Simple
If you follow for follow, this article is for you.
When I got started with LinkedIn in the early days, I played the game “follow for follow.” I did the same with Twitter before I realized following people, or anything that is not authentic is delusional.
After I began to wake up to this reality, I invested the time to delete all those who I had followed with the silly expectation they follow back.
Today, I stink at following most trends, people, and ways of thinking and being. Chances are high that I’m a bit ahead of you in the school of life, but life isn’t about competition.
Life is about cooperation and becoming who you were born to become; and it’s not to be a poser.
Over time, I learned more about who I am, and I’m still a student of life, first and foremost.
Therefore, I don’t follow most people online or in the real world.
As a younger man, I used to follow too many dark people and paths. There were consequences.
I chose to learn from my many mistakes, like following others because I didn’t know my true Self.
That has taken a lifetime, and I’m only 63.
